Bonjour SS…16 with Farfetch

With the summer time around the corner I decided that it’s high time I got prepared for the new season.

But how to get started?

Inspired by Farfetch Insiders Guide to SS16 and Sara’s words (from Style MBA) I started to edit my closet by removing the clothes I don’t wear. I mean REMOVING …without putting clothes aside telling myself that maybe next year I will finally put on this nice blouse…

Once it’s done I see what I have and what I would like to have for the new season. To see the latest fashion trends I turn for inspiration to style icons like Olivia Palermo, Julia Engel and Nicole Warne. I like their style and the way they mix timeless pieces with fast-fashion items!

Prior to purchasing clothes I normally think whether this trendy item suits my body shape and how much “it’s about me and my style”.

Farfetch-5481For someone like me who prefers quality over quantity it can be rather difficult to make myself buying a piece that I feel I won’t put on next season. But I try to persuade myself to buy at least one piece and to experiment with it styling with the key items I feel confident about.

Until recently my desire to invest only in key pieces that will last for many years can be also explained by the fact that I don’t really like spending much time on shopping.

The idea of going from one boutique to another, staying in a line to try on the clothes and searching for my size and “the right item” for the whole weekend doesn’t appeal to me at all.

Fortunately, today we have some great online shopping destination that is a big relief for someone like me. They have all my favorite Parisian boutiques like L’ECLAIREUR or JOSEPH FRANCE. So, after 2 hours I have a full understanding of what I really need for this season.

My SS 16 wishlist

Bag and shoes have always been my top priority. Nothing can tell more about you and your style than a pair of quality shoes and a stylish bag. For this season I would choose comfortable and elegant ‘Lauren’ ballerinas and ‘Drew’ crossbody bag all by Chloé.

This season is about lace and can’t be happier about that. For me lace clothes are so elegant and feminine. I like wearing a lace top with jeans and this is what I call effortlessly chic! Not surprisingly, I would choose scalloped lace tank top by Chloé again and would wear it with J BRAND skinny jeans.

I also like off-shoulder tops that seem to be so trendy this season, but I have never bought a single item like this in my life. As Sara says, fashion should be fun and we need to take risks. So, let’s do it!
